USA Today — A charity that pays for items placed on store layaways paid off close to $3,000 worth of items for children Sunday morning at a West Allis store. Milwaukee Bucks guard Khris Middleton volunteered to visit Kmart in West Allis, 6900 W. Greenfield Ave., to surprise families who showed up to purchase toys, games, books and clothes for their children. Six families who showed up on Sunday discovered their layaway items had been paid off, while another 20 families will discover their items have been purchased when they arrive in the next few days.
